Portland State edges Idaho 73-72 with last-second put-back

MOSCOW, Idaho -- Deontae North scored 30 points and Holland Woods got the winning putback to lift Portland State to a 73-72 win over Idaho on Saturday night.

Trailing by five with just over a minute to play, Portland State (11-5, 1-2 Big Sky Conference) got two quick buckets from Traylin Farris and Brandon Hollins to cut it to 72-71 with 12 seconds to go. Idaho's Victor Sanders missed a free throw and Portland State, after a scramble, hauled in the rebound, getting the ball to Deante Strickland, whose 3-point shot clanked off the front rim but Woods was there to for the putback to win it.

Hollins finished with 11 points and eight rebounds and Woods had 10 points. North had six 3-pointers and was 11 of 18 from the field as Portland State ended Idaho's 5-0 home court win streak.

Sanders finished with 28 points on 10-for-18 shooting for Idaho (10-6, 2-2). Chad Sherwood added 15 points for the Vandals and Brayon Blake had 13 rebounds to go with nine points.
