Hall scores 28 points, Montana St. downs N. Colorado 76-64

BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Tyler Hall scored 28 points, including seven 3-pointers, and Montana State beat Northern Colorado 76-64 on Thursday night for its first 3-0 start in Big Sky Conference play in five seasons.

Harald Frey scored 13 points and Keljin Blevins 11 for the Bobcats (10-6, 3-0), who outrebounded the Bears 44-28.

Northern Colorado closed to 47-45 on Jordan Davis' layup early in the second half, but the Bobcats scored 10 straight points for a 12-point lead. Davis hit a 3 and two free throws in an 11-3 run and the Bears closed to 60-56, but Hall and Frey each hit 3s and the Bobcats led by as many as 14 points while Northern Colorado missed eight of nine shots in the final seven minutes.

Zach Green's layup put the Bobcats up for good, 12-11, and Montana State led 39-31 at halftime after holding the Bears to 36.4 percent shooting from the field.

Davis scored 18 points with four assists, Andre Spight added 13 points and Jonah Radebaugh had 10 for Northern Colorado (11-5, 2-1)
