Rider rallies to beat Manhattan 77-73

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. -- Dimencio Vaughn scored 23 points, Jordan Allen added 20, and Rider rallied to beat Manhattan 77-73 on Thursday night to remain atop the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference standings with its first seven-game win streak in 10 seasons.

Frederick Scott scored 12 points with 11 rebounds for the Broncs (18-7, 11-2), who trailed 37-30 at halftime.

Allen's free throw capped an 11-3 run and the Broncs led 41-39 and Rider led 58-50 on his 3 with 8:27 left. Calvin Crawford's 3 tied it at 64 after a 10-2 Jaspers' run and the lead traded hands until Manhattan's Zane Waterman hit a layup with 59 seconds left to tie it at 71.

Stevie Jordan hit a go-ahead layup and two free throws for a 75-71 Rider lead. Manhattan closed to 75-73 on Zavier Turner's free throws with 11 seconds left, but Allen iced with two from the line.

Waterman scored 16 points, Rich Williams had 15, Turner 12 with five assists, and Crawford 11 and three steals for the Jaspers (11-14, 6-7).
