Dukes scores career-high 37 in Niagara's 96-91 victory

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. -- Kahil Dukes scored a career-high 37 points to lead Niagara over Monmouth 96-91 on Sunday.

Dukes was 11-of-17 shooting, including 5 of 8 from the arc, and made all 10 of his free throws, running his streak at the line to 27.

Matt Scott and Kevin Larkin added 14 points each. Greg King had 11 boards for the Purple Eagles (15-10, 8-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).

Louis Pillari had four 3-pointers and 18 points and Melik Martin scored 17, 10 in the first half when Monmouth (7-16, 3-8) took a 44-42 lead. Deion Hammond added 14 points and Austin Tilghman grabbed 13 rebounds with nine assists.

A 6-0 run got Niagara within 92-91 with 29 seconds left but Prochet and Larkin combined for four free throws while Monmouth missed two 3-point tries.

Scott scored the first eight points of the second half with Niagara building an 11-point lead with 10 minutes left.
