Siena grinds past St. Peter's 59-57 in triple overtime

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Roman Penn scored 18 points, Ahsante Shivers had 14 points and 10 rebounds off the bench and Siena beat Saint Peter's 59-57 in triple overtime on Monday night.

Thomas Huerter Jr., who was 2 of 7 from the line, made 1 of 2 free throws on Siena's final possession of the game. Cameron Jones grabbed the rebound for Saint Peter's with 3.2 seconds to go and Nick Griffin missed a jumper at the buzzer.

It was 40-all at the end of regulation, 45-45 after the first overtime and tied at 50 entering the third extra session.

Prince Oduro added eight points and nine rebounds for Siena (7-16, 3-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), which outrebounded the Peacocks 53-37. The Saints won their third straight game at the Times Union Center.

Sam Idowu had 17 points and 13 rebounds for Saint Peter's (8-13, 2-8). Nick Griffin and Elijah Gonzales each added 11 points. It was the Peacocks' first triple-overtime game since Nov. 23, 2002.
