Turner sparks Manhattan with double-double, 68-57

JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Zavier Turner scored 20 points and had 10 assists and Manhattan defeated Saint Peter's 68-57 on Sunday.

On the day that Turner posted his first career double-double, he reached 20 points for the 20th time.

Trailing by one at halftime, the Jaspers outscored the Peacocks 23-4 over the first 9 1/2 minutes of the second half, scoring 16 points off turnovers. Saint Peter's responded by forcing five turnovers in a 9-0 run to make it 51-42 but the Peacocks got no closer.

Rich Williams made four of Mahattan's 12 3-pointers and scored 14 points with Zane Waterman adding 13 points and Pauly Paulicap 10 for the Jaspers (10-10, 5-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who ended a four-game losing streak to Saint Peter's.

Samuel Ikowu had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Peacocks (8-11, 2-6), who have lost four straight.

The teams combined for 50 turnovers.
