Saint Peter's uses big second half to beat Monmouth 77-64

JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Nick Griffin scored 17 points, Nnamdi Enechionyia had 15 and Saint Peter's used a big run to open the second half on its way to a 77-64 victory over Monmouth on Sunday.

Cameron Jones added 10 points and the trio of double-figure scorers combined for 29 points in the second half that the Peacocks opened with a 25-6 run to take a 19-point lead, 55-36.

The Peacocks (7-6, 1-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) shot only 25 percent in the first half but made 14 of 15 free throws to stay even at 30-all at the break. Saint Peter's finished 26 of 29 at the line and made nine 3-pointers, seven in the second half.

Monmouth's Micha Seaborn scored 14 of his 16 points in the first half but was injured with 17 minutes remaining in the game and didn't return with the Hawks (4-10, 0-2) trailing by seven. Enechionyia made a 3-pointer seconds later and the lead remained in double digits. Austin Tilghman added 10 points.
