Tenn Tech recovers to hold off UT Martin 63-55

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Curtis Phillips scored 17 points and Tennessee Tech made 10 of 16 free throws in the final five minutes to defeat Tennessee-Martin 63-55 on Saturday night after blowing an 18-point second-half lead.

After the Skyhawks caught the Golden Eagles with a 29-11 run in less than 12 minutes, Tennessee Tech recovered with a 10-2 run to pull the game out.

Moments after Delfincko Bogan tied the game at 49 with a layup with 4:37 to play, Shaq Calhoun hit a free throw for Tech. After some empty possessions, the parade to the foul line really started as UT-Martin missed four straight shots and had a turnover.

Mason Ramsey added 12 points and Calhoun had 11 for the Golden Eagles (15-8, 7-3 Ohio Valley Conference), who led 31-20 at the half.

Bogan had 17 points for the Skyhawks (8-15, 3-7) and Fatodd Lewis 13.
