Windler leads Belmont to 80-67 win over Tennessee Tech

Men's College Basketball, Belmont Bruins, Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Dylan Windler tied his season high with 24 points on 7-of-11 shooting to lead four Belmont players in double figures and the Bruins breezed to an 80-67 victory over Tennessee Tech on Thursday night for their sixth straight win.

Kevin McClain scored 17 points, Amanze Egekeze scored 14 with seven rebounds and Austin Luke added 11 points and nine assists for Belmont (11-5, 3-0 Ohio Valley Conference), which beat Tennessee Tech for the eighth time in the last 11 matchups.

Mason Ramsey's layup gave the Golden Eagles (10-6, 2-1) a 27-26 lead late in the first half, but Windler had a bucket and a dunk sandwiched around three 3-pointers by Luke and Belmont led 39-33 at halftime. The Bruins led by just a point 6 1/2 minutes into the second half, but McClain and Egekeze hit back-to-back 3s in an 8-0 run and Tennessee Tech never got closer than four from there.

Kajon Mack led the Golden Eagles with 16 points, Shaq Calhoun scored 14 and Ramsey and Curtis Phillips Jr. added 10 points apiece.
