Riller has career-high 37 to lead Charleston to 82-77 win

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Grant Riller nailed five from distance to total a career-best 37 points and help Charleston beat William & Mary 82-77 on Thursday night to remain atop the Colonial Athletic Association standings.

Riller finished just two points shy of the Charleston single-game record in the programs' NCAA Division I era. Jarrell Brantley added 19 points and Joe Chealey had 12 for Charleston (19-6, 10-3), which has won seven straight.

Riller opened the scoring by draining a 3-pointer as he nailed four from distance in the first half.

The teams were tied at 41-41 at the break. They swatted the lead around until the Cougars took control for good when Brantley nailed a 3 to start a 15-2 run and give Charleston a 67-58 advantage at the 7:43 mark. The Tribe could not retake the lead.

Nathan Knight finished with 29 points, seven rebounds and four blocks for William & Mary (15-9, 8-5).
