Toledo shoots 60 percent from arc, beats Chippewas 89-76

TOLEDO, Ohio -- Tre'Shaun Fletcher scored 28 points with nine assists, Jaelan Sanford hit a season-high five 3-pointers in scoring 23 and Mid-American West leader Toledo used 60 percent 3-point shooting in beating Central Michigan 89-76 on Friday.

Fletcher scored seven points during a 14-3 run that gave Toledo a 63-50 lead with 14:16 remaining. The Chippewas got within six once thereafter on Cecil Williams' 3-pointer with nine minutes left but Fletcher and Marreon Jackson answered with baskets.

Nate Navigato made four 3-pointers and scored 14 points for the Rockets (20-9, 12-4), who shot 55 percent overall and were 12 of 20 from the arc in snapping a two-game skid.

Williams scored 25 points with eight rebounds, Shawn Roundtree added 20 points and Kevin McKay 17 for the Chippewas (16-13, 5-11).

Sanford's dunk with five seconds left in the first half gave Toledo a 44-39 lead and the Rockets led the entire second half.
