Ringo, McLean spur Miami (OH) to 71-53 win over Ball State

OXFORD, Ohio -- Darrian Ringo knocked down all five of his 3-pointers and scored a career-high 21 and Logan McLane scored 20 points to lead Miami (Ohio) to a 71-53 win over Ball State on Saturday.

Ringo and McLane had each had five steals, a career-best for McLane. The two combined to shoot 58 percent (15 of 26) from the floor, including 7 of 8 from beyond the arc for the RedHawks (10-9, 3-3 Mid-American Conference).

Bam Bowman made all eight of his free throws and scored 12 points and Nike Sibande added 10 points. Ringo has 145 assists in 18 games this season, already the eighth-best single-season total in school history.

Trey Moses had 18 points and seven rebounds to pace the Cardinals (12-7, 3-3), while Tayler Persons scored 12. Ball State shot 48 percent from the floor, but hit just 3 of 12 from distance (25 percent). Miami (Ohio) shot 48 percent (11 of 23) from beyond the arc, but just 32 percent inside it.

The RedHawks led just 37-33 early in the second half, but McLane scored the last 12 points in a 15-2 run to break the game open.
