Binghamton shoots 66 percent in 113-65 win over Elmira

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Willie Rodriguez scored 19 points with 9-for-11 shooting, Bobby Ahearn added 16 points to go with seven rebounds and Binghamton coasted to a 113-65 win over Division III program Elmira on Saturday to tie a program record nine non-conference wins in a single season.

Albert Odero finished with 13 points and Everson Davis had 11 for Binghamton (9-6), which shot 66 percent from the field and never trailed. The Bearcats got 25 assists on their 43 buckets and controlled the glass 39-29.

Ahearn sank the game's first basket and Elmira's Henry Cuffee quickly hit a jumper to tie it but it was all Binghamton from there. The Bearcats scored the next 15 points and took a 53-37 advantage into the break. In the second half, Binghamton stretched its lead to 68-46 in just over four minutes with a 15-9 run that included six points and two blocked shots from Rodriguez.

Cuffee led Elmira with 17 points and seven rebounds and Hayden Harkins had 13 points.
