Rhode Island gets 1st road win, 81-60 over George Washington

WASHINGTON -- Jared Terrell hit 4 of 5 from behind the 3-point arc and Rhode Island won on the road for the first time this season, beating George Washington, 81-60 in an Atlantic 10 Conference contest Saturday afternoon.

The Rams' only win away from home this season came at the Barclays Center in the NIT Season Tip-off and Rhode Island now has won four of the last five meetings between the schools.

Rhode Island (11-3, 3-0) doubled up the score on the Colonials in the first half, taking a 46-23 advantage by intermission.

The Rams converted 31 of their 58 shots from the field (53 percent), including 8 of 17 from distance.

Andre Berry contributed 17 points, E.C. Matthews added 12 and Cyril Langevine pulled down 10 rebounds for Rhode Island.

George Washington (8-8, 1-2) got 17 points from Yuta Watanabe and another 13 from Terry Nolan Jr.
