Steeves leads George Washington past Hampton 65-57

WASHINGTON -- Patrick Steeves scored 14 points with five rebounds and four assists and George Washington beat Hampton 65-57 on Saturday.

Jair Bolden added 13 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Colonials (2-1). Bo Zeigler and Justin Williams had nine points apiece. Arnaldo Toro grabbed seven rebounds in addition to his five points.

George Washington had a 38-32 edge at the break and Steeves scored four points as part of an 11-4 surge to start the second half that gave the team a 49-36 advantage with 14:05 to play. Bolden dropped a 3-pointer and Toro followed with a layup to push it to 61-43 with 7:04 to go and the Colonials cruised from there.

Jermaine Marrow scored 25 points for the Pirates (1-3). Greg Heckstall added seven points and led with seven boards.
