Grady, Gudmundsson help Davidson beat George Washington

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Kellan Grady scored 19 points and Jon Axel Gudmundsson had 19 points, nine rebounds and two steals to help Davidson beat George Washington 72-45 on Wednesday night.

Peyton Aldridge added 15 points and KiShawn Pritchett scored 11 on 5-of-7 shooting for Davidson (8-7, 3-1 Atlantic 10).

Grady scored 11 points, hitting a 3-pointer and converting a 3-point play, during a 19-6 opening run and the Wildcats led the rest of the way. George Washington (8-9, 1-3) missed 10 of 12 from the field and committed five turnovers in the first 12 minutes.

The Colonials pulled within eight points with 13 minutes left after a 3-pointer by Yuta Watanabe, but Davidson scored the next nine points to make it 47-30 when Gudmundsson hit a 3 about four minutes later and led by double figures the rest of the way.

Watanabe had 12 points and Terry Nolan Jr. scored 10 for George Washington.

The Wildcats shot 53.6 percent (30 of 56) from the field, despite making just 4 of 16 3-pointers, and committed just six turnovers.
