Delany drains 5 3s, Sam Houston St. beats McNeese 67-57

LAKE CHARLES, La. -- Josh Delaney drained five from long range to finish with 15 points and lead Sam Houston State to a 67-57 victory over McNeese in Southland Conference play on Tuesday night.

The victory gave coach Jason Hooten his 150th win at Sam Houston State.

Delany was 5 of 7 from beyond the arc. Josh Boutte added 12 points with 12 rebounds and Jamal Williams chipped in eight points while hauling down a career-high 13 rebounds for the Bearkats (13-10, 7-3).

Sam Houston State, which had won five straight before falling to Lamar, came back to beat Southeastern Louisiana before losing to Stephen F. Austin 82-66 on Saturday.

The Bearkats got off to a slow start against McNeese before taking a 33-28 advantage into the break. They took a double-digit lead with 15:21 left and McNeese could not close the gap.

Kalob Ledoux led McNeese (7-12, 4-5) with 22 points.
