Galbreath, Sam Houston State knock off SE Louisiana, 75-65

HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- Christopher Galbreath Jr. scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Sam Houston State knocked Southeastern Louisiana out of a share of first place in the Southland Conference with a 75-65 win on Wednesday night.

The Lions entered the game tied with Nicholls atop the Southland standings.

Marlain Veal's tip-in with a second left in the first half gave Southeastern Louisiana a 32-27 lead at intermission, but the Bearkats opened the second half on a 13-2 run to take a 40-34 lead. Moses Greenwood got the Lions even at 51-all with 8:35 left in the game, but Sam Houston danced away down the stretch and sealed the victory from the free-throw line, hitting 7 of 8 in the final minute.

John Dewey III had 18 points for Sam Houston (12-9, 6-2). Marcus Harris added 13 points.

Greenwood finished with 20 points to lead SE Louisiana (12-9, 6-2).
