New Orleans rallies to beat Incarnate Word 74-70

NEW ORLEANS -- Travin Thibodeaux scored 21 points as New Orleans rallied late in the second half for a 74-70 win on Saturday night to keep Incarnate Word winless in Southland Conference play.

Incarnate Word never trailed in the first half, taking a 38-34 lead into the break. Ezekiel Charles had a layup and Thibodeaux slammed home a dunk to give New Orleans its first lead, 50-48 with 12:26 remaining.

Shawn Johnson and Christian Peevy answered with layups to get the lead right back. Thibodeaux replied with another dunk, Scott Plaisance completed a 3-point play and followed with a jumper to go ahead 57-52 at the 7:28 mark and the Privateers held on for the win.

Thibodeaux was 9 of 16 from the floor with eight rebounds, four assists and two steals for New Orleans (9-10, 6-2). Charles added 15 points and Lamont Berzat had 12.

Johnson had 22 points and Keaton Hervey added 19 for UIW (5-12, 0-7).
