McNeese hands SE Louisiana its first Southland loss, 71-62

HAMMOND, La. -- Kalob Ledoux hit 4 of 7 3-pointers and scored 19 points and McNeese handed Southeastern Louisiana its first Southland Conference loss, 71-62 on Saturday night.

The victory snaps a three-game losing streak by the Cowboys.

After Marlain Veal hit two free throws to put the Lions in front, 21-20, Jacob Ledoux scored on a layup and Kalob Dedoux drained a 3 for a 25-21 lead and the Cowboys extended that to 36-29 by intermission and Kalob pushed it to 10 points by hitting a 3 to start the second half.

Southeastern Louisiana got within five points, 60-55 with 3:40 left, but Jarren Greenwood and James Harvey hit back-to-back 3s to end the threat.

Greenwood finished with 15 points and Quatarrius Wilson added 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Cowboys (6-10, 3-3).

Eddy Polanco was 10 of 15 from the line and finished with 15 points for Southeastern Louisiana (10-8, 4-1), with Jordan Capps adding 14 points.
