Sam Houston runs away from Texas A&M-CC, wins 82-50

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Marcus Harris scored 14 points and John Dewey III and Jamal Williams each added 13 as Sam Houston routed Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 82-50 in a Southland Conference game Wednesday night.

The Islanders led in the game, but it lasted all of 21 seconds before the Bearkats took the lead and kept on going. Sam Houston held a 28-8 advantage 12 minutes into the game. By halftime Texas A&M-CC had cut the deficit to less than 20, 42-23, but never stemmed the tide.

Sam Houston (9-8, 3-1) used 15 players and more than half of the Bearkats total came from their bench. The team shot 27 of 59 from the field, hitting 8 of 24 from distance and 20 of 31 from the free-throw line.

Joseph Kilgore hit 8 of 17 from the field and finished with 22 points for Texas A&M-CC (4-10, 1-3).
