Wofford beats East Tennessee State 75-71

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- Cameron Jackson had 18 points and seven rebounds on Friday night and Wofford knocked off conference-leading East Tennessee State 75-71.

Storm Murphy gave the Terriers (20-10, 11-6 Southern Conference) the lead for good at 68-66 with 2:43 left and Fletcher Magee pushed the advantage to four with a pair of free throws at 2:10. The Buccaneers (23-7, 14-3) closed within 72-71 on Desonta Bradford's layup with 20 seconds left. Trevor Stumpe made 1 of 2 free throws for Wofford, but David Burrell missed a layup at the other end and Magee iced it with two more free throws for the Terriers.

Neither team led by more than five the entire way.

With the loss, ETSU dropped into a first-place tie with UNC Greensboro (14-3), which beat Chattanooga on Friday night.

Magee added 17 points, Nathan Hoover scored 13 and Murphy had 12 for Wofford.

Bradford led the Bucs with 19 points. Bo Hodges scored 16 and Peter Jurkin 11.
