Amius gives Western Carolina a sweep of Chattanooga, 70-68

CULLOWHEE, N.C. -- Mike Amius hit two free throws with 16 seconds left to give Western Carolina a 70-68 win over Chattanooga in a Southern Conference battle Thursday night.

Nat Dixon drilled a 3-pointer to put Chattanooga in front, 66-65 with 1:22 left, then tied it at 68-68 with :38 remaining after Amius turned a 3-point play to give Western Carolina the lead.

The Catamounts, who lost their last two games, at Furman and Wofford, earned a season sweep after picking up just their fourth win at Chattanooga in 40 tries earlier this season, 75-63.

Deriece Parks was 4 of 7 from distance and finished with 17 points to lead Western Carolina (10-13, 5-5). Marc Gosselin added 14 points and Amius was 8 of 10 from the line to add 12.

Dixon finished with 21 points to lead Chattanooga (8-16, 2-9), hitting 4 of 7 from distance in the process.
