Furman hits 15 3s in 100-66 rout of W Carolina

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Devin Sibley scored 23 points, John Davis III added 18 with four 3-pointers, and Furman scored a season-high 58 first-half points in its 100-66 blowout of Western Carolina on Saturday to take control of fourth place in Southern Conference play.

Matt Rafferty scored 13 points, Daniel Fowler added 10, and the Paladins (15-7, 6-3) made 15 3-pointers and shot 51.6 percent from the floor to the Catamounts' 34.5 percent.

Sibley scored seven points in Furman's opening 13-0 run, five points in a 12-2 run, and 16 points in the half as Furman led 58-28 at the break after hitting 10 3s and shooting 57.6 percent from the field.

Western Carolina traded baskets with Furman in the second half but couldn't overcome a 30-point halftime deficit. Seve Stavroff's free throw with 21 seconds left put Furman at the century mark.

Matt Halvorsen scored 15 points and Ashley Williams added 10 for Western Carolina (9-12, 4-4), which was outrebounded 43-32.
