Wofford rolls in 2nd half for 109-92 win over The Citadel

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Nathan Hoover, Trevor Stumpe and Storm Murphy all had career nights, combining for 57 points as Wofford got its seventh win in the last eight games, beating The Citadel 109-92 in Southern Conference action on Saturday.

Cameron Jackson added 13 points with a career-best 13 rebounds. Hoover finished with 21 points, Stumpe added 19, making 10 of 12 from the line, and Murphy chipped in 17 for Wofford (10-5, 2-1).

Wofford finished the first half on an 11-3 run to lead 45-37 at the break. The Terriers led throughout the second half, pushing it to 69-55 at the 14:04 mark, but could not shake free of The Citadel as the Bulldogs closed to 81-74 following Quayson Williams' 3-pointer with 7:51 left.

Jackson had two straight layups to spark a 12-3 run and the Terriers cruised home.

There were 49 fouls called with Wofford making 29 of 37 free-throw attempts and the Bulldogs hitting 19 of 33 from the line.

Williams had 18 to lead The Citadel (5-9, 0-3).
