Feagin scores 23 as Santa Clara tops San Francisco 65-62

SAN FRANCISCO -- KJ Feagin scored 23 with three assists, three steals and a blocked shot to propel Santa Clara to a 65-62 victory over San Francisco on Thursday night.

Henry Caruso finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season for the Broncos (7-12, 4-3 West Coast Conference). Santa Clara knocked down 22 of 44 shots from the floor, but hit just 3 of 11 from 3-point distance.

Frankie Ferrari paced the Dons (10-10, 2-5) with 13 points and four assists, while Matt McCarthy scored 10. San Francisco connected on 25 of 61 shots from the floor (41 percent) and made just 5 of 21 from distance.

Santa Clara won the game at the free-throw line, making 18 of 26 attempts, while the Dons shot 11 free throws and made seven.

The Broncos led 27-19 at halftime and led the whole second half. The Dons got within a point of tying the game on Souley Boum's layup with 5:27 left in the game, but Feagin nailed a 3 and two free throws and the Dons got no closer than three points down the stretch. After Feagin's 3, the Broncos scored their last 13 points from the foul line.
