Men's College Basketball, Bradley Braves, Georgia Southern Eagles

PEORIA, Ill. -- Darrell Brown hit three free throws in the final 18 seconds to help Bradley hold off a late charge by Georgia Southern and secure a 62-57 victory Saturday afternoon.

Both teams came into the contest with 5-1 records -- which equals the Braves' best start in 32 years. The home team has won all five games in the all-time series.

Brown, who finished with 19 points, hit a pair of late free throws to send Bradley into intermission with a 29-28 advantage, but Georgia Southern took a brief lead to start the second half on Montae Glenn's tip-in. Elijah Childs put the Braves back on top with a jumper and Bradley eventual built a double-digit lead in the second half before the Eagles rallied.

Mike Hughes, who finished with 16 points, hit three-straight free throws to get Georgia Southern within three, 53-50, with 4:06 remaining, but got no closer.
