S Dakota State sets points record in 111-68 win

BROOKINGS, S.D. -- Mike Daum scored 24 points for his 42nd career 20-point game, David Jenkins Jr. added 18 points with five assists, and South Dakota State set a school points record in its 111-68 rout of NAIA Presentation College on Saturday.

Reed Tellinghuisen scored 17 points with three 3-pointers, Chris Howell added 15 points, and Ian Theisen had 11 for the Jackrabbits (12-5), who won their third straight and 13 straight at home. SDSU made 14 of 23 3-pointers (61 percent) and shot 64.5 percent overall.

Daum made his 460th career free-throw attempt for the fourth most in school history, surpassing Kent Hyde's 459 (1955-58).

Daum hit a hook shot and Jenkins' 3 capped the Jackrabbits' opening 14-6 run. Tellinghuisen scored two 3s and eight points amid a 13-0 run and the Jackrabbits led 59-30 at halftime after shooting 74 percent shooting from the floor and 8 of 10 from 3.

Daum hit a layup with 8:36 left and the Jackrabbits led by 45 points. It was Daum's 570th field goal, tying Austin Hansen (1999-03) for the sixth most in school history.

Julius Jackson scored 13 points and Deiontay Walters had 11 for the Saints (6-10).
