Clippers get busy with interviews

NBA, Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers are interviewing Brian Shaw on Monday and former Cleveland Cavaliers coach Byron Scott on Tuesday for their vacant head coaching position, according to sources familiar with the situation.

The Clippers also will interview Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins on Wednesday and former Portland Trail Blazers coach Nate McMillan on Thursday, sources said.

Most of the candidates already have had lengthy conversations with the Clippers over the phone, but these are the first in-person interviews that have been scheduled.

ESPN reported last week that Shaw and former Denver Nuggets coach George Karl are considered the frontrunners for the job.

Vinny Del Negro was fired on May 21 after leading the Clippers to 56 wins, the most successful regular season in franchise history.
