Ten events later, the scion of NASCAR Hall of Famer Bill Elliott has three wins, the latest coming at Kansas Speedway in the Sunday's Round of 12 elimination race in the series Playoffs. Elliott took charge in the Hollywood Casino 400 when Kevin Harvick was hit with a pit road speeding penalty on his last green-flag pit stop on Lap 214 of 267. Playoff drivers cam through the race relatively unscathed. #4-Harvick had a late penalty for speeding on pit road after leading much of the race. #41-Busch had an uncontrolled tire during a pit stop that put him a lap down.

Chase Elliott grabs victory at Dover, advances in Monster Energy Cup Playoffs: What looked like a Stewart-Haas Racing victory parade for much of Sunday afternoon ended in a wild overtime scramble, with Chase Elliott taking the checkered flag in the Gander Outdoors 400 at Dover International Speedway. On considerably older tires, Elliott pulled ahead cleared runner-up Denny Hamlin through Turns 1 and 2 after a restart on Lap 403 and powered his No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet across the finish line .265 second ahead of Hamlin's Toyota. With the victory-his second of the season and the second of his career-Elliott punched his ticket into the Round of 8 in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, extricating himself from the bottom four in the postseason standings.[More](10-7-2018)

#9-Chase Elliott won the Gander Outdoors 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Dover International Speedway under an Overtime finish. The win is his 2nd win of 2018 and 2nd of his career.
Elliott stayed out after a caution with 8 laps to go and was able to hang on to the lead through a late race accident and restart. With win locks him into the Round of 8 in the Playoffs.
#11-Hamlin finished 2nd followed by #22-Logano, #20-Jones, #41-Busch, #4-Harvick, #3-Dillon, pole sitter #18-Busch, #17-Stenhouse, Jr., #19-Suarez, and #12-Blaney.
#4-Harvick dominated most of the race, winning the first two stages and leading 286 laps, but had to make an extra green flag pit stop late in the race after a valve stem was knocked off during his first stop.
#14-Bowyer wrecked with less than 10 laps remaining and finished 35th.
With less than 4 laps remaining an accident involved #2-Keselowski, #88-Bowman, #12-Blaney and #10-Almirola. Bowman was unable to continue and finished 28th. Keselowski, Almirola and Blaney continued on to the finish. The accident caused a red flag for track cleanup and led to the Overtime finish.
There were 15 lead changes among 8 drivers and 5 cautions for 31 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 122.404mph.

#78-Truex, Jr. finished 2nd followed by #18-Busch, #19-Suarez, #20-Jones, #42-Larson, #1-McMurray, #24-Byron, #41-Busch, and #4-Harvick.
Elliott led 50 of the 90 laps, including the final 32. He held off a hard charge by Truex, Jr over the final laps of the race before Truex ran out of gas on the final lap.
