Kroger shifting sponsorship strategy UPDATE: Major NASCAR sponsor Kroger is shifting its marketing focus this year with the JTG Daugherty Racing team to a "Delivery, Pickup, Ship" campaign to align with its three different e-commerce initiatives. Kroger had been most recently focusing on its ClickList initiative, where customers select their grocery order online before picking it up in stores. However, Kroger has rebranded the ClickList program as part of a wider e-commerce initiative, and the Cincinnati-based company is changing up its NASCAR focus as a result.(1-5-2019)

Allmendinger's Darlington throwback will JTG Daugherty's racing roots: AJ Allmendinger and the No. 47 Kroger ClickList team are throwing it back to their roots at Darlington Raceway for NASCAR Throwback, honoring driver Robert Pressley's 1998 car. Allmendinger's paint scheme pays tribute to the No. 59 car driven by Pressley for JTG Daugherty Racing in the 1998 NASCAR Busch Series (NASCAR XFINITY Series today). Kroger began activating the Clicklist program, which allows curbside pickup of groceries purchased online, last year in NASCAR, but only promoted it on JTG's #47 Chevy driven by A.J. Allmendinger.
