Wakeboard Rail Jam set to perform during Chicago race weekend

JOLIET, Ill. (June 7, 2018)- Chicagoland Speedway announced today that Step Up Productions will bring their Wakeboard Rail Jam set up to the Stars and Stripes Weekend June 28 - July 1.

Fans will get up-close and personal with the professional wakeboarders as they perform high-flying aerial tricks over the 50' gap that separates the takeoff and the 50,000 gallon landing pool.

"Step Up Productions is excited to bring out Wakeboard Rail Jam to the Stars and Strips NASCAR weekend at Chicagoland Speedway," said Ryan Davis, founder and president, Step Up Productions. "Our innovative wakeboard show takes the sport of wake boarding off the lakes and rivers for an 'IN YOUR FACE' experience. The wake rig consist of a technical rail for the riders to grind as well as the favorite 'Big Air' kicker. The athletes start at one end of the 300' set up, pass through one tank, blasting off the kicker, clearing 50-70 feet in the air and hopefully landing in the other tank."

For nearly 20 years, spanning two continents in over 200 cities and in four different countries, Step Up Productions has utilized action sports and music to promote, advertise and raise awareness for businesses, products and/or events. The recent growth in the extreme sport of wakeboarding lead to the creation of Wake Rail Jam, which has quickly become the perfect addition to festivals, shows and sporting events.

"Nothing says fun in the sun like a massive pool, where professional wakeboarders will perform for the legions of Chicagoland Speedway fans during our weekend," said Chicagoland Speedway President Scott Paddock. "Throughout the weekend we encourage fans of all ages to check out the air defying tricks on display at the Rail Jam venue."

Competitors are pulled across the course by a high-speed, gas-powered Konix. This two-tower advanced pulley system allows them to grind over rails and perform dazzling tricks in the air.
