Tiger Woods made official his commitment to the Memorial Tournament on Wednesday, adding Jack Nicklaus' annual tournament to his schedule in what is expected to be a final event prior to the U.S. Open.
Woods, 42, who is coming off a tie for 11th at the Players Championship on Sunday, has won the Memorial five times, most recently in 2012. It is also where he shot his highest score as a pro, an 85 during the third round of the 2015 tournament, his last appearance.
This will be his 16th start in the tournament.
No. 1-ranked Justin Thomas also gave a commitment to the tournament, which is May 31-June 3 at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.
Woods has played eight times this year on the PGA Tour, having made the cut in seven events and posting four top-12 finishes, including two top-5s.
At the Players, Woods opened with scores of 72-71 to barely make the cut, then shot 65-69 on the weekend, briefly pulling within 4 shots of eventual winner Webb Simpson on the back nine before dropping back.
Woods will be paired with Peyton Manning during the Memorial Tournament's official Pro-Am on May 30. Manning and Woods first paired up on the golf course in 2009 during the pro-am at the Quail Hollow Championship in Charlotte, N.C.
