Rory McIlroy has emerged as the odds-on favourite to win next month's Masters after securing victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitational on Sunday.

McIlroy, 28, carded an 8-under 64 on the final day at Bay Hill to finish 18 under par -- three shots clear of Bryson DeChambeau in second -- as he wrapped up his first tournament win since 2016.

The Northern Irishman's recent success has seen him replace Tiger Woods as the bookmakers' leading candidate to claim the green jacket in Augusta when play gets underway on April 5.

The Masters is the only major missing from McIlroy's CV, but with less than three weeks until the tournament gets underway Bet365 currently has the four-time major winner at 9/1 alongside American Dustin Johnson.

Although Woods has not won a PGA tournament since 2013, a timely return to form -- including a 5th-placed finish at Bay Hill -- sees the four-time Masters champion remain a popular choice at 10/1.

Woods, 42, lies just ahead of last year's PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas and reigning Open champion Jordan Spieth, who are currently at 11/1 and 12/1 respectively.

The Masters takes place April 5-8 at Augusta National Golf Club.
