U.S. youngsters Tim Weah, Cameron Carter-Vickers in lineup vs. Mexico

Tim Weah and Cameron Carter-Vickers are among the lineup switches for the United States in their match against Mexico on Tuesday night in Nashville (ESPN, 8:30 p.m. ET).

U.S. interim boss Dave Sarachan made six total changes to the starting XI that lost to Brazil 2-0 last Friday at the Meadowlands. Sarachan will insert Shaq Moore, Carter-Vickers and Eric Lichaj on the back line, Kellyn Acosta and Weah in midfield, and Gyasi Zardes up top.

Zack Steffen will serve again as goalkeeper. Other players from the Brazil loss include defender Matt Miazga and midfielders Tyler Adams, Weston McKennie and captain Wil Trapp.

Weah has two goals in three appearances for club Paris Saint-German this season. Carter-Vickers is at Swansea City on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

Tuesday's starting lineup is the youngest for the United States has put out against Mexico in the modern era (since 1990). Only Zardes, Lichaj, and Acosta have played against Mexico at the senior level.

On the Mexican side, Diego Lainez of Club America and Cruz Azul star Roberto Alvarado are making their starting debuts for Tuesday's game.

Mexico interim coach Ricardo Feretti made 10 changes from Friday's 4-1 loss to Uruguay in Houston, with defender Hugo Ayala the only repeat starter.

Hugo Gonzalez will make his debut in goal for El Tri after veteran Guillermo Ochoa returned to club Standard Liege. Other Mexico players to return to their European clubs were PSV duo Hirving Lozano and Erick Gutierrez and Wolverhampton striker Raul Jimenez.

Three other Mexican players -- Gerardo Arteaga, Jose Abella, and Erick Aguirre -- will earn their first international caps.

Mexico's lineup will be goalkeeper Gonzalez; defenders Oswaldo Alanis, Edson Alvarez, Ayala, Arteaga, Abella; midfielders Victor Guzman, Aguirre, Lainez, Alvarado; and Angel Zaldivar at top.
