Milton Karisa posts emotional farewell to Vipers SC

Uganda's Milton Karisa has shared an emotional farewell to domestic heavyweights Vipers SC after signing for Mouloudia Club.

The 23-year old was part of the Vipers side who won the 2017-18 Uganda Premier League title, and was also part of the Cranes squad at the 2018 Africa Nations Championship in Morocco.

He signed a two-year deal with his new club earlier this month, and took to Facebook on Wednesday to bid farewell to his former side.

"So long and farewell," Karisa began. "It has been great, but all things must come to an end.

"I cannot even express in words my time at the great club, Vipers," he continued. "I joined [them] with much excitement, I had dreams and aspirations, goals to meet, the greatest of ambitions to be and reach the level of success I always wanted.

"In my mind, I knew I wanted to leave a mark, and that was going to take some serious work because I knew Vipers were a top club, with top players and top coaches, and thus was the greatest avenue to fulfil my dreams."

The right-sider has followed in the footsteps of Uganda wonderkid Muhammad Shaban, who moved to Moroccan heavyweights Raja Casablanca in August.

"I was able to realize what I had set out to do; to win titles - both team and individual accolades - to represent the national team on a consistent basis, to write a major chapter in the history books of Vipers, and also help the team as much as I could," Karisa continued.

"I had many great moments in the red jersey, but i can say my greatest, most memorable moment was when I scored the first and only goal of the day at the new St. Mary's stadium.

"The noise, the celebrations are still fresh on my mind," he concluded, "and then obviously winning my first league title with my wonderful teammates."
