Uganda head coach Sebastien Desabre isn't worried by the Cranes' recent performances despite their consecutive defeats to the Central Africa Republic and Niger in the Three Nations tournament that ended on Saturday. Uganda were defeated 1-0 by Les Fauves in their opener before losing 2-1 against hosts Niger after Adebayor Zakari Adje scored in either half, with Nicholas Wadada pulling one back for the troubled East Africans. "I am not afraid of the results, and I am not afraid of the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania in September," Desabre told the Uganda FA media team. "It was very sad for the football [on Saturday], because for the first time in my life, I saw an offside from a goal kick," he added. "Today it was impossible to win the game because the condition of the pitch was very poor." Regardless of the results, Desabre insists that the matches have been instructive in helping him decide which players will feature in the upcoming qualifiers. "The friendly games have helped me identify players who will be up to the task during the 2019 AFCON qualifiers," the Frenchman continued. "I know we have a good team and dedicated players. "I know the level of my team and I know what we can do. Tactically these friendly games have helped me because the players are adjusting to my philosophy." One player who may not have a role to play during the qualifiers is Standard Liege's Farouk Miya, who endured an international break to forget. "I am also very disappointed in Miya because he had a chance to get us a draw with an open chance that he missed," Desabre concluded.
