Tottenham's Son Heung-Min on Man City game: It's going to be fun

Son Heung-Min has told ESPN Brasil that "everyone will be watching" Tottenham's match at Manchester City on Saturday but says he thrives on the pressure.

Runaway league leaders City host Son's Spurs looking to become the first team since 1953 to beat Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham before the New Year in the same season.

Pep Guardiola's side set have already set a Premier League record for 15 consecutive wins and recorded the best start to a top-flight season since Spurs in 1960-61.

Son, who has scored six goals in his last seven starts, will be key to Spurs' hopes of reducing the 18-point gap to City and he knows all eyes will be on the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

"It's going to be fun," Son said. "It's going to be a difficult game for us but it's the best game in Premier League. Everyone will be watching and everyone will be expecting a good game. It's going to be fun but if we just play our game, I think we have a great chance.

"Of course they are playing well but in the Premier League no game is easy. Manchester City is very, very strong this season but I don't go to Manchester to drop some points. We want to win this game. Of course, it's going to be difficult game but we need to believe in ourselves, go there and just enjoy the game."

The game will be shown live around the world -- including on SBS ESPN Korea in South Korea, where Son is among the biggest celebrities. The 25-year-old says he enjoys the added pressure.

"I really enjoy everyone watching me," he said. "Sometimes as a professional player you need to take it, prove yourself in this situation. Sometimes the pressure makes me stronger.

"The attention is not so crazy, I think. I'm really thankful because when people recognise me, so many good things happen. I'm just enjoying the moment, when I'm home or when I'm here -- just really enjoying [it]. I'm not stressed for it."

Son scored for the fourth game running in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Brighton in another match where Spurs' opponents defended doggedly and with numbers at Wembley.

The former Bayer Leverkusen player is well aware that it will be different against City and he warned that his best form is still to come.

"It's going to be different to last night because they're going to attack as well, not 11 players defending like we play against other teams," he said. "We're strong enough and we can score goals in any games. If teams stay deep, we need to find some other options but against Real Madrid and Dortmund [in the Champions League] and Liverpool we showed we're good on the counter attack as well. We can use the counterattack as well.

"I can be better of course. I'm never happy with my performances, I always want to prove more and more things. I'm always hungry. I can be better always. I'm just thinking positively. The last three games have been very good. I'm just looking forward to other points."

Son's father, 55-year-old Son Woong-Jung, was also a professional footballer and, asked about his background as a player, the Spurs man said: "I really actually started when I was 10 years old but before that I loved to play with father because he played as an ex-player. I just enjoyed it, so I started at 10 years old with father to be a proper football player.

"He still helps me now as well. He's always with me, I'm always asking. He can be my father or he can be my coach or he can be an ex-player. I can ask him so many things. He teaches me a lot and I'm really thankful."
