Gibraltar goalkeeper's own goal woe vs. Republic of Ireland

An eventful few days for goalkeepers continued on Saturday when Gibraltar's Jordan Perez had a moment to forget in his country's Euro 2016 qualifier vs. the Republic of Ireland.

His side had fallen behind 3-0 after just 18 minutes -- the third of which came after Perez himself conceded a penalty -- but managed to escape further damage until the 51st minute when, well, this happened...

Perez's day ended when he was substituted after an hour with his side 7-0 down. Given that his replacement, Jamie Robba, did not concede, it may be a while before poor old Perez gets his place back.

However, here at The Toe Poke we try and take the positives whenever we can so let's focus on the fact that Perez did make nine saves during his time on the Aviva Stadium pitch.

Furthermore, at least he wasn't beaten from 75 yards, nor did he attack a match official!
