Moment of the Day - France dance in the rain with Jules Rimet again

It goes without saying, France are FIFA World Cup champions for the second time in their history after a wonderful tournament in Russia that fulfilled expectations.

No words are needed to describe the scenes as France danced in the pouring rain and held the Jiles Rimet trophy aloft. A deserved 4-2 win over Croatia in the final for a deserved team, and what a feeling it must have been for Didier Deschamps and Les Bleus.

Twenty years since their 1998 triumph, following tournament after tournament of promise and disappointment, controversy and infighting, finally Deschamps assembled a unified French team that got the job done, and in some style.

Paul Pogba scored the game-changing goal, and teenager Kylian Mbappe -- the star of the tournament having already turned heads with his goal threat and energetic displays -- capped it off with a fantastic strike from outside the area to put the result beyond doubt.

All the heartache that still lingered from Germany 2006 is now forgotten. A new hero is here. His name is Mbappe. He has kissed the trophy. And France are kings of the world again.
