How much is promotion worth?

The value of promotion to the Premier League this season for clubs that did not receive parachute payments will be at least £170 million and could reach a minimum £290m if they avoid relegation next year, according to Deloitte Sports Business Group.

How they got here:

Reading defeated Fulham 2-1 on aggregate, with Yann Kermorgant grabbing the only goal in the second leg of their playoff semifinal from the penalty spot.

There was a much more thrilling end to Huddersfield's playoff semifinal with the Terriers defeating Sheffield Wednesday 4-3 on penalties to reach Wembley.

Meet the managers:

Huddersfield Town's David Wagner

"We said at the beginning of the season that we'd like to play without a target, so we'd have no limits. We had a good start, then after the first half of the season, when we'd played each team once, I thought 'OK, we have a chance of making the playoffs."

Reading's Jaap Stam

"It is the start of my career as a manager and for the club, when we started, the ambition was to eventually go back into the Premier League. You need to have a certain structure in achieving that and that's what we spoke about at the start of the season."
