Barcelona's Aleix Vidal makes return to training after ankle injury recovery

Aleix Vidal returned to training on Tuesday as the Barcelona players either not injured or with their international teams trained with the B team.

Vidal has not featured since the behind-closed-doors win over Las Palmas on Oct. 1 because of an ankle problem.

In February, the former Sevilla man was ruled out for six months with a dislocated ankle but returned ahead of schedule as a substitute in May's Copa del Rey final win against Alaves.

Since then he has made seven appearances for Barca, but last month began to feel pain in the same ankle.

Barcelona have preferred not to take any risks, and he has not played since.

With Sergi Roberto sidelined for the next five weeks with a hamstring strain, Vidal's return to action may see him alternate with Nelson Semedo at right-back.

Ousmane Dembele, Andre Gomes, Arda Turan and Rafinha are also unable to train due to various injuries.

Luis Suarez, meanwhile, has not joined up with Uruguay for their friendlies against Poland and Austria.

Suarez is following a specialised plan in a bid to overcome the knee problem that has troubled him throughout the campaign.

He has scored just three times for Barcelona this season and is on his longest goal drought since signing from Liverpool in 2014.

Gerard Deulofeu, Denis Suarez and Paco Alcacer, who scored twice in the 2-1 win over Sevilla at the weekend, also trained with the B team on Tuesday.
