Lyon's Corentin Tolisso considers move to fulfill World Cup ambition

Reported Juventus, Arsenal and Manchester City target Corentin Tolisso has stated he wants to leave Lyon this summer to play in the Champions League and further his ambition of featuring for France at the 2018 World Cup.

In summer 2015, Tolisso signed a contract extension through to 2020 with OL where he has emerged from the youth academy to become a first-team regular and full international for his country.

The midfielder's performances have, however, led to him being linked with some big clubs in both Italy and England.

Napoli had a "considerable offer" for the 22-year-old rejected last summer, according to Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, and L'Equipe reported at the time Napoli had a verbal agreement with Aulas that Tolisso will join them for around €30 million this summer.

However, the Italian club, who are certain to finish in Serie A's top three, will face stiff competition from rivals who will also feature in the 2017-18 Champions League.

With Lyon set to finish fourth in Ligue 1 this season, and thus only qualify for the Europa League, Tolisso has designs on playing on club's football's biggest stage next season.

"I don't know if I'll be at Lyon next year. I want to play the Champions League and the World Cup," Tolisso said after Lyon's league win over Montpellier on Sunday.

"To be at the World Cup, you have to play the very, very big games. And you play big games in the Champions League."
