Bayern Munich's Jerome Boateng is staying at the club - Niko Kovac

MUNICH -- Bayern Munich coach Niko Kovac has confirmed that Jerome Boateng will remain at the club but expects Juan Bernat to complete a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

German newspaper Die Welt reported that Boateng "definitely wanted a move to PSG," who were said to have offered the previously agreed €40 million transfer fee only for Bayern to then demand €50m for the Germany international.

"It's no secret that I talked to PSG," Boateng said. "Talks with Thomas Tuchel were good and it was an interesting project. But that doesn't mean that I am no longer passionate for FC Bayern. I have big goals and will continue to give my all for the club -- as I have always done."

Bild said Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge had attended training on Thursday to inform Boateng of the latest development.

However, Kovac, speaking at a news conference ahead of the game at Stuttgart, said he expected the defender to "give everything" after the move fell through.

"Jerome is a world class defender and a top professional," he said. "Jerome received an offer [from PSG] but I don't know how far transfer negotiations progressed.

"He's here now and will stay here and give everything for the club. He will make sacrifices for the team and the club to achieve our common goals."

Meanwhile, the coach confirmed that Juan Bernat is in Paris having a medical, while Renato Sanches will also stay at Bayern despite reported interest from PSG boss Thomas Tuchel.

"We have agreed that, after Bernat, no further player will be sold," he said.
