Ayoub El Kaabi completes Hebei China Fortune switch

Ayoub El Kaabi has joined Hebei China Fortune from Renaissance Berkane, the Moroccan side confirmed on Wednesday.

According to a post on RS Berkane's Facebook page, El Kaabi moves for 6 million Euros, and has signed a two-year deal with the Chinese Super League side, who are coached by ex-Wales boss Chris Coleman.

The 25-year-old forward was part of the Morocco side at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, starting the Atlas Lions' first game against Iran.

He made his debut for Herve Renard's side earlier this year.

El Kaabi was the outstanding player during the North Africans' triumphant African Nations Championship campaign on home soil in February, breaking the tournament record for goals scored after netting nine in Morocco's six matches.

"Ayoub had many offers, but we picked up the Hebei offer," wrote RS Berkane's statement.

"He will now play alongside stars like Ezequiel Lavezzi, Javier Mascherano and Gervinho."

Berkane will also receive 30 percent of any future fee Hebei receive for the striker, who had been linked with a move to Egyptian giants SC Zamalek.
