Liverpool's Rhian Brewster to sign professional contract - sources

Liverpool forward Rhian Brewster is poised to sign a professional contract at Anfield to end speculation over his future, sources have told ESPN FC.

It was feared highly rated striker Brewster might be prised away from Liverpool amid reports linking him with a move to German side Borussia Monchengladbach.

Liverpool reportedly cancelled a preseason friendly with Monchengladbach over the club's interest in luring Brewster to Germany.

A number of other overseas clubs have been monitoring Brewster's contract situation at Liverpool, but the Anfield outfit are now confident they have secured the teenager's future on a new five-year deal.

Liverpool have high hopes for Brewster in the future with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp a big admirer of the 18-year-old having promoted him to the first-team squad last season.

Brewster won the Golden Boot as England won the U17 World Cup in India last October.
