Roberto Firmino admits speaking to Alisson over move to Liverpool

Roberto Firmino says he has talked with Brazil teammate Alisson about a potential move to Liverpool.

Roma goalkeeper Alisson has been on Liverpool's radar for a number of months, sources have told ESPN FC, with speculation intensifying after Loris Karius' mistakes in the recent Champions League final.

Speaking recently, Roma sporting director Monchi said he sees Alisson's future in Rome and that the Italian club were yet to receive an offer for player.

Firmino, on international duty with Brazil ahead of the World Cup, says he would welcome the 25-year-old with open arms if he were to move to Anfield.

"Sometimes I talk to him about it and have a joke with him, saying 'you should come to Liverpool'," he said. "His agent is sorting his future but it wouldn't be a bad thing to have him here at Liverpool."

Firmino will be playing against one of his Brazil teammates in the Premier League next season after Manchester United agreed a deal with Shakhtar Donetsk for midfielder Fred.

"He's is in the next room to me, he is my next rival but I congratulated him and I hope he has a lot of success playing at Manchester United," Firmino added.

"Now on the pitch it's a derby, we won't be able to avoid playing against each other but I wish him great success."
