Manchester United's Andreas Pereira leaves Valencia after loan ends

Andreas Pereira has bid farewell to Valencia following the end of his loan deal from Manchester United.

Pereira joined Valencia on a season-long loan in search of playing time and made 23 league appearances, 12 as a starter, to help them finish fourth in La Liga and qualify for the Champions League.

"I arrived at Valencia with the aim of helping the club reach the place it belongs and together we have achieved our aim," Pereira wrote on Twitter. "Today, I returned to Manchester United, but I will carry this emblem and the fans always in my heart. Thanks to everyone."

Pereira watched Valencia's last game of the season, a 2-1 home win over Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday, from the stands at the Mestalla Stadium.

Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho said in September, after the loan was finalised, that he was disappointed Pereira chose to join Valencia instead of fighting for a starting place at United.

However, Pereira, who said last month that Valencia were keen to sign him after his loan ends, believes he is now ready to break into United's first team.

Under contract with United through next season, Pereira wants assurances from Mourinho that he will get playing time before deciding on his future with the club, sources told ESPN FC last month.
