Juventus to battle Premier League clubs for Cenk Tosun - sources

Juventus are looking to beat a number of Premier League clubs to the signing of Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun, sources in Turkey have told ESPN FC.

Tosun has impressed for club and country during the last 18 months, scoring 20 goals last season to help Besiktas win the Turkish Super Lig and has continued that form in front of goal this term with 10 goals, including four in the Champions League.

Tosun, who was born in Germany, made his debut for Turkey in 2013 and he has scored eight goals in 25 appearances on the international stage.

Crystal Palace saw a bid for Tosun rejected by Besiktas on transfer deadline day last summer, while Tottenham, Everton and Newcastle have also been credited with an interest in the 26-year-old.

However, Juventus are now ready to enter the race for Tosun after being impressed by the player's displays in the Champions League.

The Bianconeri are looking to add to their attacking options to take some of the pressure off top scorer Gonzalo Higuain and their scouts have been alerted to Tosun.

Besiktas are reluctant to sell Tosun if they reach the knockout stages of the Champions League, but with the player entering the final 18 months of his contract they are bracing themselves for offers when the transfer window reopens in January.
