Inter Milan sign Yann Karamoh from Caen and loan Gabigol to Benfica

Inter Milan have signed forward Yann Karamoh from Caen, while Gabriel Barbosa has moved to Benfica on loan.

Karamoh signed a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy, reportedly at €6 million.

The France under-21 international progressed through the ranks at Caen and made 35 Ligue 1 appearances last season, scoring five goals.

The 19-year-old's contract at Caen was due to expire at the end of next season but he signed a new deal before completing his move to Inter.

"I'm very happy to be at Inter," Karamoh told Sky. "My inspiration is Neymar, he's my favourite player. I've chosen number 17. Forza Inter!"

Premier League clubs Newcastle and Southampton were reportedly interested in Karamoh, but Inter were successful in securing his signature.

Karamoh, who was born in the Ivory Coast, has scored one goal in two matches for France's under-21 side.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Barbosa, commonly known as "Gabigol," completed his loan move to Benfica, who have the option to make the deal permanent next summer for a reported €25m.

Gabigol did not make a single Serie A start during his first season in Europe after arriving from Santos for close to €30m last summer.
